Psychological Services in Central London
Welcome to We Well
My name is Dr Meadhbh Raftery. I am a Counselling Psychologist and BACP Registered Psychotherapist who is particularly skilled at helping high achievers to reach their goals. I have over a decade of experience working with people with mental health problems, including extensive NHS experience - in mental health, forensic mental health, and neurology - as well as in the education sector and charity work. I’m passionate about harnessing psychology and neuroscience to help my clients achieve new levels of success both personally and professionally.
As well as a professional doctorate in Counseeling Psychology, I also have a BSc (Hons) in Psychology, and an MSc (merit) in the Psychology and Neuroscience of Mental Health. My specialist area of research is the psychology of weightlifting.
I started We Well because throughout my career in the NHS, education, charity, and private practice, I consistently saw how systemic pressures and limited time and funding can compromise the space needed for truly excellent care. It became clear to me that working in a way that is holistic, ethically sound, and aligned with your values is a challenge when resources are stretched. We Well is my response to that. Here, I reclaim the time and attention that psychological assessment and support deserves. My approach is built on the principle that to understand a person takes great care. My thinking doesn’t stay with psychology, I incorporate neuroscience, philosophy, social justice, and art to meet people as they are and cultivate healing and growth through self-understanding. This is the foundation of We Well, a practice dedicated to empowerment through compassionate curiosity.

Committed to Ethics
Ethics are at the heart of everything I do with We Well, guiding my practice and shaping my commitment to making therapy accessible to all. I believe in the power of therapy to make a meaningful impact, and I am dedicated to helping others regardless of their financial situation. This commitment is reflected in my practice, where 20% of my caseload is pro bono, and 20% is provided at a concessionary rate. By working with me, you are not only investing in your own well-being but also supporting others who may not have the resources to access high-quality therapy.
